Live room controls

Go live, layouts, screen share, recording, waiting room, open floor, breakouts, polls, Q&A, whiteboard and slides.

Green room and Go Live

If a session starts in the green room (prep mode), only hosts are backstage. Use it to check your camera, load slides and talk with co-hosts. Attendees see a waiting page. The Go Live button unlocks 15 minutes before the scheduled start; press it to open the session to attendees.

Layouts

Choose between grid and speaker views, and pin someone to keep them large. Hosts can force a layout for everyone else: grid, speaker or host only. Forced layouts also apply to people who join later.

On Chromium browsers (Chrome, Edge) you can pop camera tiles into a floating window so screen share or slides can use the full stage. This uses Document Picture-in-Picture and is not available in Firefox or Safari.

Screen share

Screen share is available to owner, admin, host, co-host and presenter roles only. It is never extended by Open floor. Click Share, then choose a tab, window or the whole screen.

Note. To share tab audio, choose a Chrome tab and tick the audio box. Firefox and Safari share screen and window video, but tab audio is limited.

Recording

Owner, admin, host and co-host roles can start and stop recording. A visible indicator tells everyone when a recording is running. Finished recordings appear in your library after processing, where you can play or download them.

Waiting room and lock

Lock the meeting to enable the waiting room. New joiners wait on a screen until a host admits or denies them; hosts see a Waiting to join list in People and can admit everyone at once. People already inside stay in.

Open floor

By default only hosts can use mic and camera. Turn on Open floor to let other roles publish audio and video, for example in a discussion. Screen share, recording, whiteboard, slides and breakouts stay host-tier only.

Moderation

Hosts and moderators can mute a person, mute all, remove a person or ban them, and send an announcement to everyone. Hosts can promote an attendee to presenter.

Chat, Q&A and polls

  • Chat: public messages and optional private chat.
  • Q&A: attendees ask, upvote and hosts answer or dismiss.
  • Polls: create a poll, watch votes arrive live and close it.

Breakout rooms

Hosts can split people into breakout rooms for small-group work and bring everyone back to the main room.

Whiteboard, slides and media

Draw on a shared whiteboard, present uploaded slide decks and play videos to everyone. Presenters can present these, but only hosts and admin roles can add or delete library content.

Side panels

Each rail button opens or closes its panel. On desktop you can have two panels side by side. On mobile one panel opens at a time.
